Further to yesterday's incident of the wrongly delivered wine which I didn't accept (Too honest?) - I received a reply from Laithwaites whom I emailed, thanking me for what I'd done, but sadly no offer of any freebies! They said that the rightful recipients had received the wine and that they would review their delivery procedures. Oh well, good deed for the day, I suppose!

Good news los - you will be repaid one day, believe me!

But my next dare is to reply. ...I'm pleased to hear the wine made it to its rightful owner in time for Christmas. That was my intention in caller backt he driver, so if you feel to sharing the Christmas spirit in this season of goodwill, I'd be delighted to sample a bottle of your best red.....

Or words to that effect and make sure you give your address!!
,,in calling back the driver,

sorry typos

I might just take you up on your dare, Maidup. Nothing to lose I suppose. Watch this space..............
I would!! Email them that is, maidup has some very good advice :-)
You're right nothing to lose! We'll get to raise our glasses yet.
I'm so honest too - but sometimes I really do think why am I letting them get away with this? Had chance given for £20 in shops when I only gave them £10 note TWICE in one afternoon in the summer, told them both times and in both shops barely got a "thank you" - in fact in the second shop I had walked out of the door before I noticed and went back in a big queue to tell them - "oh ta luv" was all i got, I said "it's a good job I'm honest isn't it, your cashing up would have been wrong!" "Yeah ......"

I know what you mean Ann. I've done the same thing though not twice in 1 day! I may have second thoughts if it happens again, but as I've worked in a shop, I know what a pain it is if the till is wrong when cashing-up. I guess we've got our parents to thank for instilling honesty into us, and hopefully we've done the same with our offspring. (can stop polishing our halos now)
I ordered, from Laithwaites I think, a case some years ago to be delivered to my school address, when it hadn't arrived a few days before the end of term I phoned them and it seemed they had sent it to the wrong address. A case was delivered quickly to my home address but when the new term started, another case was at school, about which I kept quiet! I later got a call from Laithwaites asking where they could deliver my case of wine and apologising for their errors, I was soooooooooo tempted.
