on my 21 st birthday [18 didnt count in those days] I was married with a baby and not very well off, went to my mums and there was a brand new set of shiny saucepans on the table "are they for me" I asked - no said my mother I am giving you all my old pot and pans for your 21st and I have bought myself all new ! and at the time I was grateful ! then I realised what she had done & cried all the way home pushing the pram with said pots inside.

My brother used to work in Argos warehouse, one year he gave us 5 saucers (no cups) and an ironing board that wouldn't stay up!
