yes it is. the company is very strict about instore price comparison, the online prices are price-matched to other online prices, high street prices reflect the high street overheads and cannot be compared to online prices.

The model for shopping has changed.
Future is on-line as simple as that.
Only venture in a Tesco once every few months now.
Order on-line , they deliver.
Tesco have adapted to future shopping trends and run on-line in parallel with store shopping.

Must have been lucky to date then.
Never been approached or "Chucked out" of any high street stores yet.

To be honest , I know in most cases (Other than closing sales) it will be cheaper on-line , so I don't even bother driving to the town centre , paying to park , wondering about , lugging item back to car ....simply point click ...job done

they do, the difference being they make huge profits online and take the loss in store, the prices are set to make the profit overall on the line. your dad's army boxset ordered online is stored in a box in an unlit unheated warehouse with automated loading of skips and requires 1 person to pick it from the skip, in store it has to be delivered, unpacked, priced, displayed, put through a till and bagged up, the employees who o all of those elements have to be paid, work in a safe and comfortable environment and pay taxes.

With reference to Comet, I used to love shopping in the massive warehouse type stores. But over the years they just got too expensive.
I went into one a few months back and same tumble dryer was £50 cheaper with Tesco on-line and club card points.
Comet should have changed there business model.

Not sure what the future will be for the High Street.
Shoppers will always (in most cases) go for the cheapest and easiest.
Local council don't help by penalising you with £3 to £4 to park the car before you even start to shop.

Amazon simply follow the tax laws.
If the current government let them have a tax free trading presence , then you can't moan at amazon.
In the same way that if the police allowed sports cars to do 100MPH on motorways and everyone else had to stick to 70MPH.
You can't then shout at the sport cars owners for speeding at 100MPH.
