It is pretty cool - but then, humans have evolved a brain that is a pattern recognition machine, capable of seeing patterns in all sorts of information.
We are adept at filling in the blanks - its what our visual senses do every second, with information from peripheral vision and central field being processed differently.
This leads to good stuff-avoiding predators, hunting down prey, reading sentences like those above - unfortunately it does have a downside - anecdotal evidence, correlation being confused with causation, conspiracy theories and the like.... :)
