Just tried to listen to the footy online - due to contractual issues it can't be broadcast online! Why?

Just a guess, but maybe the contract (money paid by BBC for broadcasting game) stipulated that it can only be heard on BBC in UK. Web radio can be heard anywhaere in the world. Maybe the footy people sold the foreign rights to someone else.
Don't know if this pertains or not...but in the US, if a certain amount of tickets to a particular game haven't been sold, then the game is not broadcast.
