Eccles, make of boiler and model? Digital display or not? If digtial what error code?
I hate boilers when they play up. Maybe also post this in 'how it works'?
It's a Viessman (sp?), model errr can we call her Claudia???
I've pressed some buttons on the digital display, and the heating seems to have come back on but the thermostat is still blank.
If it was an error code the display said HC1, and then wittered on about acknowledging a fault, a random selection of yes/no has resulted in me having heating.
I'll have to look for the user guides tomorrow me thinks......
I'm not going anywhere for the next few days so if I have to have the heating on non-stop I'll survive, as long as I can adjust the temp on the boiler. Can't have the heating on overnight.
My Christmas glitch is minor. BT remote not working unless right next to TV. New batteries tried. Laptop jumping and muddling sentences. Best of luck with boiler.
Wishing you a warm Christmas. Three attempts to type this.
ooh Eccles, why would is be mains fed? (just curious, honest)
Another thought, which you may find insulting, but isn't intended that way, it happened to us. The meter (prepay) ran out of battery.
Owd, thermocouple.....is that like two people sharing body warmth???
Alba, I'm pretty sure our last thermostat was hard wired so I assume this one is too...I might have a surprise tomorrow when I find the user guide though! Nothing to do with the leccy supply.....telly still going with CDWM on catch up ;-)
I can't find the user guide for ours, which I kept handy for 2 years (minimum) boilers are a pain in the belly-button. You're always welcome here to keep warm xx
LOL Sloopy. first of all, gently dry fry the smoked bacon
Yeah know what you mean .Christmas eve turkey in the oven .one of those fan ovens great you may think .about eleven o clock oven door opens turkey steps out .wife says where are you going to turkey .to get my coat is blinking freezing in there .Thermo had gone and the the fan was blowing cold air round the turkey
Thanks Alba for the invite, I'll be up you way in a couple of weeks, I'll give you a wave on my way past....assuming I haven't frozen to death.....fingers crossed it sorts itself out in the morning!!!
I'll never forget the boiler going on Christmas Eve, the year my mother was coming to stay and I was in rented property. The landlord was a gem, he got a bloke out to fix it.
Luckily or unluckily whichever way you look at it, mine packed up a few weeks ago . Had to have a new boiler but at least it was up and running before the cold spell came in .
