Why Are Lambs So Fat?

They wonder, they eat grass....so why are they so fat?

Don't forget they also suckle and the grass is at its best when the lambs are born - the farmers here also give them hay.

It is the wool, just look at them after they've been shaved, they look like goats.

They're lighter than you'd think too, I helped a farmer *bundle a couple into the back of a 4X4 once. The poor beasties were handed to me upside down, I had to hold them by their paired ankles.

*Not for slaughter, they just needed to be checked out for 'scab'.

She also wanted stuffing
The kind that you can eat
So when she saw the advert
She guessed 'twould be a treat

To have the lot delivered
Post paid is what it said
She went and got her eyes checked
It should have been her head

In the end she kept it
To have it as a pet
And daily it is growing
A huge one it will get
