Sunshine, Cockroaches, Crying and Tea!!!!

Hi folks, the following questions are proving THE most difficult to answer out of any quiz I have ever done!! Can anyone help?

Q30 - asked what he most disliked about holidays, he said: "Direct sunshine." He was (a) Tony Blair, (b) Charles Kennedy or (c) Michael Howard.

Q35 - Asked about the worst place she had stayed in, she answered: "It was the sort of hotel where the cockroaches wrestled you for the bed and the towels were so thin you could see through them. It had a sign outside saying that Sean Connery had stayed there. Before leaving I added the words 'But not by choice'." She was (a)Jo Brand,(b)Joan Rivers or (c)Dawn French?

Q40 Asked about his best holiday, he said "As a seven-year-old, I was obsessed with cartoons. I remember seeing Dumbo and crying, but what stuck in my mind most was the castle at Disney World in Florida, where I dreamt of going. Six years ago, I did go - and when I saw the castle I had tears in my eyes."The man quoted was (a)Paul Gascoigne (b)Jamie Bell or (c)Ricky Tomlinson?

Q44 Asked which was the best hotel he had stayed in, he answered: "I like staying in Travelodges. I feel comfier in them than in big posh hotels. The great thing about Travelodges is that they have tea-making facilities and I drink gallons of the stuff. So you can have a cuppa whenever you fancy." He was (a) Ricky Tomlinson, (b)David Jason or (c) David Attenborough?

Hope someone out there can help!!!

I agree Clare. I've already left the same question on a different thread, and there's another discussion on the travel section. I can almost hear Joan Rivers saying the cockroach one, having seen her live this year. My partner thinks Michael Howard for the direct sunshine. It could be a joke about "something of the night" whilst I was just thinking of Kennedy's complexion. Paul Gascoigne has been in the news quite a lot, and seems more likely to cry at Disneyworld, but not sure. As for tea, I'm going to google these, hoping to find the telegraph site where they must have asked celebrities about their best and worst. I presume like me you tracked Ann Widdecombe down to India through googling rather than finding a telegraph site.

Andrew

just realised it's you in the travel section. These must all be from their heaven and hell section, which they obviously don't load onto the net. looks like some time in the library, or sheer guess work.

Thanks Andrew!

I think it will be guess work for me!!

I have trawled through the net for DAYS and have not even got close, although I know that Ricky Tomlinson uses the word "cuppa" in the Royle family and in that football manager programme?

Such a shame that we can't find the answers, and if we do, we still have to come up with a slogan too!!

Good luck!

I will keep my fingers crossed that someone can help us!!

Clare

Clare, Sure q44 is Ricky tomlinson, from Heaven and Hell column of travel. Remember thinking, all his money and he stays at Travelodges. I am stuck on these Heaven and Hell quotes also. Best of luck, Colin

Looks like we're all stuck on the same 4 questions. It's always the Heaven & Hell column questions that prove to be the difficult ones. Maybe I'll save all the papers for the next year in preparation for this time next year !!! I seem to remember Paul Gascoigne in that column going on about Disney World.
