Google's 'happy Holiday'.

Would any AB ers be offended if Google had used "Happy/Merry Christmas" instead of today's "Happy Holiday" logo ?

But Google is a worldwide company where many of the people using it are not Christians (or live in a Christian country) so why should they use Happy Christmas.

I would not be offended. However neither do I care about the wording. They've wished everyone a nice time, including those who don't celebrate christmas, I really don't see a problem.

I second VHG's comments. Google isn't Christian, English, American or anything like that so why should it use a term exclusive to one group.

They don't use "Happy Holiday" to avoid offending, they use it to be inclusive. Nowt wrong with that. As VHG says, they are global, and Christianity only accounts for around 33% of the world's religions.

I am offended by some non tax payer wishing me a happy non event.

As far as I am concerned they can put whatever they want on there, in the unlikely event that they offend me I could always use Bing or Yahoo.

On the other hand, if I did want to read in impersonal mass marketed festive message that was more religious, and definitely included the words "Merry Christmas" I could always go and read the Christmas card that my local MP sent to "me".

Because holiday is non denominational.

Doesn't offend me, at least they acknowledge that it's a holiday for a lot of people irrespective of religion or whatever they like to celebrate.

Americans say "Happy Holiday" because their holiday season begins with Thanksgiving. They rarely wish you "Merry Christmas" (and nor do their christmas cards). I can`t say I care what Google way TBH.

The daily mail is only not published for one day... why not take the day off from being offended or outraged, I'm sure they'll tell you what you should be offended/outraged about on boxing day.

I'm going to have a happy Christmas, but I only getting two days off work. Thats not a holiday!
