Goose Oil

Bought this from Asda (really a shop I don't buy from) - however put the oil in and done the business - there was really no taste from the roasted potatoes.
A little of a saga - one day I cooked a small chicken in a large pot on the oven and the oil from that chicken I roasted roasties - they were unbelievable.
As I say no taste from the goose What happened thanks for any replies

I was doing it from fresh. After it had sizzled for a while it was fine. I think the trick was to get it up to 220 degrees+ for it to gain flavour. As I say it was many years ago, and the memory fades. I remember the smell tho'
