Ipod Nano in my car

Hi wonder if you can solve my query?

I just got an Ipod Nano for Christmas but i want to know if there is anyway i can get it to work in my car - i have looked on the internets but dont know how it would work as i have no-where for a lead to plug into my car stereo for it to work? Does anyone have any ideas or can they point me in the right direction of a website that sells something that will make this work?

Some cars now come with built in adaptors for portable music players (primarily Toyota/Citroen/Peugeot with their jointly developed Aygo/C1/107 city cars, and the new Toyota Yaris) but I am led to believe there are other ways of adapting this, including via the cigarette lighter or casette player. Unfortunately I don't know of any websites that sell these myself.

If your car stereo has a tape player then the cheap and easy answer is to get an adapter from your local DIY shop. You pop it in the tape player and plug the ipod into it and they cost less than a fiver!

Yeah i looked at those but unfortunately i dont have a tape player - thanks for the help though - does anyone know if the FM transmitter option works??

Hi material nut, be very careful about the FM transmitter. I got one for my ipod mini last year when we had a golf at the time and it didn't work at all. We've sinced switched to a mazda which it does work better in BUT there are no free frequencies in London so there's is constant interference. Even when I've had some better results outside of London the sound quality is poor and there's a lot of distortion on songs with some bass. If you live a long way from a major city, it's worth considering. Also, don't forget they are actually illegal in Britain as you're technically broadcasting a pirate radio station! We are now going to look at somehow getting an input jack out of our stereo if poss.
