What king of electrical plug would you use in Dubai? Do you have buy new adaptors? I take it they are different from the ones you use in Europe?

There tends to be a mixture of old british, standard british 3 pin and some european two pin. Take a standard travel adaptor (which has a selection of plugs) and you will be fine.
