I was just thinking this morning that I still use the radio, alarm clock and large rucksack I had for going to university back in 1997. Probably after having the same Christmas stocking that my mum bought me for my first Christmas back in 1978.
I've had no reason to change them as they are still ok.
How old is some of the stuff you still use regularly?
My Nan always promised me the camphor wood chest she bought out in Hong Kong, where my mother was born. However, the avaricious aunt swiped it for her son...
Ooh yes, I've got books - some are my parents' school books, dating from about 1920.... and a set of Girls' Best Books, that my grandma gave me in 1954.
I still have one of the dishes I used for the practical of my O level Home Economics (well, I'm not using it at present as it is full of bits of a Lego).
I have an old Chesterfield chair, that I guess is about 50/60 years old. I use that every single day.
The oldest thing I have is a mounted stags head, which is Victorian.
Although I don't exactly "use" him, he's currently wearing a Santa hat... which is kind of the same thing! :-)
Just in case some strange looking German airplanes are lurking around, I have quick access to my "The Aircraft Recognition Manual" by G.H. Gibbs-Smith published in 1944:)
