Personally I ignore them,. They cut no ice with me. It would not matter to me if they had medals and awards hung all over their bodies - they would still be the same person underneath. And if they are nice, that is all that matters. I can see no use in them whatsoever, but I suppose if it makes the recipient feel good it may have some use after all.
