Virgin Coconut Oil, anyone tried it before?
1 Answers
Has anyone tried a substance called Virgin Coconut Oil? I have been reading up on it and it claims it speeds up your metabolism and increases weight loss, has anyone tried it before? If so how is it consumed? I have read that it can be consumed oraly on a daily basis but can it be used in cooking? Also and does it taint the food which it's cooked in?

Perhaps it is just a slightly healthier type of cooking oil than the others that are out there (for instance, corn oil, peanut oil, olive oil). However, none of them are "good" (beneficial) for you as far as I can tell. This may be a case of "the least of all evils". If you still desire to use it, my guess is that you'd use it as you would any other type of cooking oil. Some foods have cooking oil as an ingredient, like certain baked desserts (e.g., brownies, and cake maybe). Other foods you fry *in* cooking oil-- vegetables, stir fry dishes, etc. None of them "taint" foods as far as I know, they are all edible, but if you consume any cooking oil in a large quantity you might get diarrhea, same as with ingesting too much fat at one sitting... your body isn't made to digest that much fat all at once. If you are very concerned about this matter, ask a medical doctor before doing anything.
