Rebus.

I have just finished reading 'Standing In Another Man's Grave.' (Probably my favourite Christmas present)

I was so excited that Ian Rankin had written another Rebus novel.

Now I feel bereft, because I've finished it. I felt the same when I finished reading The Remorseful Day.'

Does anyone else feel the same when they finish what seems to be the final book?

Yes Tilly. Read them all in order and was left with a void after The Remorseful Day. Read the new one in a couple of days and just hope Mr Rankin now keeps him going. Funnily enough haven't read any non-Rebus books though. Are they worth it?

I don't know, Captain2. I haven't read any either.

I didn't bother with The Inspector Malcom Fox series which were Rankin's previous two. I suspect I was in mourning after 'Exit Music.'

Ha.. seems I got my Rebus mixed up with my Morse there! But felt the same about both series. And yes Ken Stott was perfect as Rebus.

Keeping 'Standing in Another Man's Grave' for 2013. Read the Inspector Malcolm Fox books but still missed Rebus so much. Glad he is back. Met Ian Rankin recently and think he is glad Rebus is back too.

I read a lot of nordic noir and I am currently on the last book of about three of my favourites authors, which probably isn't the last book but they'll still be translating the next one. I love CJ Samson's novels set in Henry VIII time but it doesn't look like there's going to be another one either, he's got another book out but it's not part of the series.... sad times.

I liked John Hannah as Rebus as well as Ken Stott.

Hanna was an awful Rebus IMO. For one thing he was far too young...
