I have to tell you. If you have not already seen posted that I had a fantastic time In Edinburgh, and the Dome, you said to go to was absolutely so packed, bookings would have been for months the way everybody was going In and then coming out straight away.

Hi Fredkins- I love Edinburgh too. Which is the Dome- is that the Ecological/Science type place close to the new Scottish Parliament buildings?
no factor. that's Dynamic Earth...The Dome is a swish restaurant in George St...
Thanks. I have eaten out quite a lot in Edinburgh over the last 18 months but can't remember that one so probably haven't been there. What type of food is it?
Did you go in fredkins and see the Tree?
factor... very nice ..upmarket..silver service...old bank conversion...has nightclub favoured by celebs, conference room private restaurant etc...
factor..towards east end of George street....
Thanks. I've just looked at an image and recognised it- it's a prominent building. I have walked past it many times. Does it have an outdoor bit at the back?
yes...nice if sunny day....
One of the young factors lives in Edinburgh and we have found many lovely small restaurants. I don't know whether The Dome is a bit pricey but when next there we'll have a look. I seem to remember seeing some prices for breakfast and the prices seemed reasonable
lunch menu quite reasonable for what you get...dinner more expensive..you can also get high tea...tea..cake..Sarnies etc..posh ones but very nice...where in Edinburgh is sprog living ?
He's living very near to Haymarket.
Many years ago, when in my 20s, I too worked in Edinburgh and loved it there. I particularly liked one bar called Rutland Place (I think it's still there but last time I went back in I felt rather out of place) and an Indian Restaurant on Hanover St called Bali's (which has sadly disappeared).
nice and central for your son..The Rutland still there...seems to be a gathering place for young trendies on nights out before they hit the night spots..
