My 6 year old Dell desktop refuses to recognise the SD card (actually a Mini SD card and adapter) from my Olympus camera. I have tried attaching the camera with the supplied USB lead, inserting the card directly into the desktop's card reader, and using a standalone card reader through a USB port. I know the images are there because I can view them on the camera's screen. It has worked successfully many times in the past so what have I accidentally changed? Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

have you tried a different SD card in the same Dell desktop? It might be your desktop thats at fault not the SD card itself.
Have you locked the SD card adapter?
I had to tr-boot my comp earlier because it wouldn't recognise my SD card ....it does now.
there is a trick i have heard of - but i dont know if it actually works - to put the item in a plastic bag, then wrap in tissue or teatowel and place in the freezer for a while.

some people swear by it, others say no ...

it may only be good for seeminlgy dead cards - but do a bit of research on the idea an see if you think it will help
People used to try that with car radios, joko. It does nothing

SD card is not locked and yes, other cards do work. Really stumped (and frustrated) now. Thanks for your suggestions though.
What happens when you connect the camera to your pc via usb ports?
