New Bloody Itunes...aargghh

i have lost all my music files on my i pod nano5.i am on the new version of i tunes...but for the hell of it cannot create any playlists for my ipod...its not as easy as the old version of itunes.
can anyone help please

To get back to something like your old view, click View in the top menu, then Show sidebar (This should show your old playlists, you can create new playlists here as before)
Click Music in the Sidebar, then Songs in the strip menu to the right. If you then click Album under the strip menu, your collection will be put in Album/Song order much like the previous iTunes version
The main bug-bear for everyone seems to be the loss of the cover flow, which was actually the best feature.
New doesn't always mean better unfortunately.
