under age sex on coronation st

is there anybody who agrees with me that showing rosie and craig on coronation st before 8 o clock, in bed after having sex and being under age is a little too near the mark for me.

i understand where you're coming from, but bear in mind it did'nt show any naked bodies, and corrie tries to stick to real life as much as possible, they're not condoning this behaviour but facing reality that teenagers do this sort of thing, i think they're dealing with the issue very sensbly

What mark is that? Neighbours is shown at 1.45 and 5.30 and has had similar storylines, an incest plot and everything. I suppose awareness of these issues have to be raised somehow and sadly a lot of the british public respond to soap operas more than anything else. I dare say the characters will have some kind of gruesome fate, learn a moral lesson.

i don watch neighbours,so cant comment on it, and i know it is trying to be as near to real life as possible,but i think its too risky all this sort of thing on tv all the time,and its to early for my liking.

Well............it is a soap...........and it happens in real life.........and I suppose the writers were trying to portray that...........they also mentioned Craig saying that they used protection, so maybe they were trying to put out a message.

i think the story line is very good. it shows the the reality that many teenagers are having sex underage. i lost my virginity at 14 like many other people im sure have. and the storyline also promotes using protection and making teenagers aware of what they should be doing. it also shows parents that they should be talking to their kids about sex and that the teenagers shouldnt have to sneak away for sex.

In the past, CS has been good at using plot lines to educate viewers about the consequences of some characters' behaviour - and I am sure this storyline will develop in a similar fashion. Sadly, this is the only social ecucation some people ever get.
