Are we about to loose the ability to write out the English Language with shorter versions of texting?

Great question...I have often thought the same.
When Im writing albeit an email or letter,I find myself suddenly doing it as if a text...automatically!!!
What would my English teacher have said!!!!!

I have the opposite problem- I really struggle to use text speak in text messages and spend ages looking for the punctuation keys and trying to find upper case where necessary. I just H8 it. (That's a first for me)
