Wide Mouth Jars

Hello guys,

I am looking for some wide mouth jars - the cheaper the better.

They need to be around 5'' diameter (just as a guide) and preferably have screw tops.

I have tried Lakeland and Googling but can't seem to find anything in the UK.

Any suggestions on where to try would be greatly appreciated!!!

anything kitchen wise I always try them first saved a bomb over the years and the quality is good too

Yeah I never think - we don't have one nearby where we live but I can order online and the postage is reasonable if you're ordering a few things at once =)

Mate of mine makes them - glass on glass. Do not buy rubber seals as they have been found to have a carcinogenic risk if the rubber comes in contact with food.

Trish recently replaced all the seals on her jars and they don't use rubber these days its some kind of plastic guaranteed safe for food use. I think she got them at either Lakeland or Wilkos.

Try the good old jumble sales they often end up there cheap to.

How big because that wide I can only really think of glass sweetie jars - you know the big ones where you used buy a 1/4lb of sweeties from.

Robert Dyas also always sell old style Kilner jars.

I didnt think that Kilner jars would be wide enough if you wanted approx 5 inches

Wilkinsons and Asda do as I needed some at Christmas when making my mulled fruits.
