Indigestion

I have recently started taking Amlodipine and have been getting terrible indigestion which I have never had before,any one help please?

You're not taking the medication on an empty stomach, are you?

As long as you started your stomach symptoms with the taking of Amlodipine, then one can presume a direct relationship.

As DSJ has implied.......take your tablets with food.

if this doesn't work, see you doctor who will probably prescribe Omeprazole to combat the stomach problem.

Do you eat breakfast cooked with fats? if so, grill your breaki.

I take them, but not until I've had b'fast, otherwise they have the same effect on me.

I don't know the drug but I had similar problems with methotrexate. I was already on omeprazole and by GP upped my dose and it has made a big difference so worth asking if you don't solve the problem by having the tablets with food as others have said.

I also watch what I eat to try and not trigger any indigestion off (or so it is not so bad).

Thanks all for your answers.I take them last thing at night,so will take them with or just after evening meal.
