As it is New Years Eve, are we in for another round of fireworks do you think?

I am waiting for my dogs to start freaking out but I am keeping the tv on a bit louder than usual and acting normally, hoping they won't hear them if they start.

Shane is already rushing around barking as they have started letting them off here already. They could wait until midnight so we could get it over with in one hit !
Gawd ..I am becoming a killjoy !
However a Happy New Year to you maggie ..all the best.
Going off here on the hour every hour. Surely the point of fireworks on NYE is to see the New Year in AT MIDNIGHT? Killjoy or not, I say ban them apart from organised displays.

They've been letting them off since eight round here, i'm in full agreement with lankeela.

Anyway, Mrs L and myself are seeing it in next door.

Wish everyone a happy New Year.

I dont think anyone can call us killjoys for wanting a bit of peace and quiet in our own homes! If only for the sake of our pets, is'nt it time manufacturers produced low noise fireworks, for people want to watch displays, sometimes it sounds like ww3 out there and we live about 4 miles from the nearest town!
agree agree, do they really need to whistle?

How about as a new years resolution to get your dog a bit more manageable for the next go round for fireworks and such? Sound like fun?

Also with fireworks/Thunder noises when using them in your home, the best thing after gettting them to relax a bit more is to take the noise outside, since that is where it comes from in the real world, for flash of lightening a camera flash can help. Always back off if dog shows any agitation, (the neighbors might but they don't count, let them know what is going on so they don't think you've lost your mind, they may already think it, no sense in them having proof......lol)

It's best this to do this when you can control it, not after the season has begun. Good Luck....and Happy New Year!
