We're all in this together though eh? And yes, I know the link is from The Scum but it's being widely reported via all media this a.m, it's just this is the only decent link at present.
Surely not more Tory ministers out of touch?

I tend to agree with jno. I would certainly like to see the transport minister using public transport on a regular (although not daily obviously) basis... particularly during the morning commute, and from different locations in the country. It is a key area of contention for a lot of people and I do think as transport minister, he should be seen to be exploring...

Of course they're all as bad as each other! Every major political party has had their scandals, cheats and fiddlers.
Then you've got the likes of Nick Clegg, promises not to introduce fees, is offered power and takes it, only to renege on that promise and publicly humiliate himself in doing so, being pilloried by press, public and party members alike.
He seemed a principled man but subsequently fell into the 'same as all the rest' category.
He must have set his party back 10 years with that fiasco.

100 years, more likely. I don't see many people voting for them again after all they've done is turn into Tories.
All the same I'd sooner vote and spoil the paper rather than not vote at all. But in fact I've voted for my sitting MP for the last two elections regardless of party: a good constituency worker.

Maybe an apathetic public has had enough of increasing sleaze, impropriety and dodging the issues and questions put to their politicians.
The voting figures for turnouts at elections (general and otherwise) would certainly bear this out.

And as for the recent Police Commissioner debacle......

Clearly telling untruths as well . . .
Simon Burns, minister overseeing rising rail fares, was revealed to be making use of a ministerial car instead of travelling the 35 miles from his home to London by train. He claimed this was because he was not allowed to read sensitive papers on the train, but this claim was immediately contradicted by the Cabinet Office
