Just come across a book 11.22.63 by Stephen King. Its about a guy travels back in time to prevent the assassination of J.F.Kennedy. If he succeeds what
would the fate of USA be.
This got me wondering about other what ifs.

What if Washington hadn't been able to rally his troops that terrible winter at Valley Forge. After he, Benjamin Franklin,the Adam's and all the signers of the Declaration of Independence had been rounded up and hung, what would Britain have done?

it might have stopped the British Empire in its tracks, Clanad? Current thinking seems to be that after the loss of the 13 colonies they realised future colonisation would have to more carefully handled and the colonists given a bigger say (still none for the indigenes, of course). It culminated in New Zealand being taken over only by consent and by treaty with the natives.

My own guess is that actually you American chappies would just have kept on rebelling and won your point later rather than sooner, but who knows?
