Last night I watched a couple of films on sky T.V. had 10 cans of guinness and a supper of barbecued spare ribs and a char sui with fried rice from the local chinese.
You can keep new years eve, and believe it or not I am not an old misery I just find the whole thing an absolute bore.

We stayed in, as we usually do. Polished off quite a bit of wine and cooked some nibbles for us all. We let the kids stay up till midnight, sadly our 2 yr old fell alseep 20mins to midnight so missed it all lol but our 7yr old managed it and just loved watching the fireworks, they were very impressive. Must admit found it very hard to stay awake!! Good night tho.
I'm old enough to have done the elaborate New Year's Eve parties at glamourous night spots, as well as private blow-outs at friends' homes. This year my husband I and met my two brothers at my parents' house. We set out a nice buffet of cold cuts and cheeses, the champagne flowed, and we had a lot of fun and laughs. At midnight we went outside and shot off some fireworks (illegal in Michigan, Hubby and I had bought them in South Carolina on our way home from Georgia). All in all, it was probably low-key for most, but exciting enough for us.
Here's to a fab 2006 for all my fellow ABers!
