I've just had my first win of 2013, thats a good start to the year.
Back at the beginning of December I asked for some help/ suggestions with the last clue on the local hospice prize crossword. The only possible answer to the clue, and with the letters I had, had to be- Up Sugar creek without a paddle, but it just didn't seem right for a crossword sold by the old ladies in the local hospice shop. I sent it off anyway, and this morning I had a letter telling me that I had won. I'm delighted.
OH says that I only won because everybody else didn't believe that could be the answer, and I was prob the only one that sent it back.

Thanks excelsior. The crossword is sold every month to raise money for St Kentigerns hospice. the prize is ten lottery tickets ( one per week for ten weeks ) in their own lottery. The prizes are up to £1000 per week, so fingers crossed for the next ten weeks, x

Well done, good way to start the year! I won the Saturday i cryptic crossword (digital radio/iPod dock) two weeks ago, so it just goes to show it is worth sending those entries off....

Thanks. I'd been doing it for a while -tried to get it finished and in the post before the 10.30 collection on Sat morning as a little test with my morning coffee. Of course, there's no point in doing it now, and I can't do the Times Saturday cryptic that quickly ! I'm hoping for a MOS £1,500 or Monday Express £1,000 win, though......

I won two radio's in 2011 very nice pure digital. my last crossword win was in november sunday express £100 cheque came on christmas eve. good luck with lottery tickets.

Brilliant, sparkles! I started the year well too - nothing as intelligent as a crossword, but I won an Indian Head Massage in a raffle last week, it was wonderful!
