swollen gums

i had a tooth out last friday which was a problem tooth and now nearly a week later my gums still feel swollen and hot around the area where the tooth was taken out..is this normal .it was one of the back teeth also the front teeth now seem more sensisitive.i am taking some thrush treatment because i think i had thrush appear because of antibiotics.how long will this all last for and is it normal

<DIV>Its possible you've got a condition called Dry Socket. I had a similar problem when I had my wisdom teeth removed. Its quite common after extractions apparently. Seeing your Dentist would be the best thing to do but in the meantime you could rinse your mouth with warm salty water. It certainly helped me until I could see my Dentist.

thank you feeling loads better now.still keep getting weird taste though.but gums not swollen.sometimes feel a bit hot but thats about it.happy new year
