Sleeping With The Enemy

As I'm sure you will know by now, I support Linfield, and our mortal enemies are that lot from the other side of the city, Glentoran. However, tomorrow night, live on Sky, Glentoran play Cliftonville, the team with a healthy lead at the top of the league. Struggle as I might, and no matter how logical it seems, I find it really hard to want Glentoran to win, even though they really have to if the Blues are to have any chance of retaining the title.

Am I being silly, or can others empathise with this?

I certainly did. Have the game on Sky plus and will watch it tomorrow as I got an overtime shift this evening. Crap result for Linfield.

It was a good game Duincer what i saw of it.
More atmosphere (even at Solitude) than at Cheltenham which was so quiet you could here the players! Early Everton goals dampened the local spirits I think.

When on earth are the Reds going to sort their ground out?! They have a decent side, but that far side from the camera is a joke, with those cars parked by the perimeter fence. We were reminded by the excellent Mark Robson about the time the ball got jammed under a car during a televised game v Linfield (!)

Just watched it, albeit a truncated version on Sky this afternoon, and it wasn't bad at all. I used to live quite near Solitude many years ago and it is a palace now, compared to then, back when you were lucky if 100 people turned up on a good week. I used to go as I wasn't allowed to cross town to see Linfield as the "troubles" were raging, and had to rely on a Crusaders supporting brother in law to take me to the odd game. Agreed about the far side, although it is difficult. The ground is hemmed in by terraced houses and the scope for improvements is limited, as is the budget.

The knee is recovering, although it took three failed attempts before she got the steroid injection in. My eye watererd a little. The stifsis much improved but it is styill sore.

The Jags should prevail as Dunfermline are in chaos, but I was warned about Morton at the start of the season and chose to ignore that advice. What would a current SPL manager know about football anyway?
