oh it's ok it's gone, reported 3 of them, what a waste of their time eh?
I frequently do - they are a right pain in the a r s e.
It doesn't matter how many times you report (AB has moved on, Dot!!) a mod or Ed has to be about to remove them.
That spammer is here every night, Dotty. (It's computer-generated from China).

Clicking the 'Report' button sends a message to the Editor but, unless he/she is around at the minute, he/she won't see it until the morning. However I've just banned the spammer, as I do several times per week.
I would report spammers but it asks for a password, is that my Answerbank password or a special one for reporting them?

Thanks methyl.
The password required is your AB one, Vulcan42.
(When I click on 'Report' I see the same thing that you do except that, as a moderator, I get a 'remove post from site' option as well - but it's simpler for me to go to the spammer's profile page and click on 'Ban user')

Thank you also, Buenchico.
Could the Ed not organise one of those wobbly code thingies that some sites have to prove the applicant is not a robot?
How do you know the spammers are Chinese?
Shoota:
I was thinking along the same lines earlier. (The system is called 'Captcha'). I'll email the Ed.

Cupid04:
The link in the spam posts goes to a Chinese-registered domain.
I did report them, I also reported them last night.
..I was going to say 'pleb' 'eejit' stc - it's probably automated.
Wouldn't it be nice to send the originator an automated boot up the arse.
Some people find it very hard to read Captcha.
I've sent that email.

Ummmm:
Captcha allows users to have the words read out loud, or to get another group of words to copy.
I HATED Youtube's "can't read?" response to their captcha.
I read it as spoken with a patronising rising inflection as if they thought people were illiterate when it was actually indecipherable. I noticed they've tagged an "it" on the end.
Didn't know it could be read out. I have had to re-put in a Captcha several times though
