Storage Hoarders, Aggie Mackenzie - Wasteful?
9 Answers
watched this a couple of times and i notice there is no option to donate stuff to charity - and the skip pile is invariably full of perfectly good stuff that could make a charity a few quid.
i am surprised in these days of recession and of recycling etc that all this stuff is just skipped and sent for landfill.
it is also encouraging others to be wasteful and just bin stuff - it does my head in i see bags of perfectly good stuff put in those clear binbags for bin day, when there is a charity shop at the top of my road!
should the tv producers be a bit more responsible here?
i have never complained about a tv show before but i actually feel like berating them for this! haha
thanks

i hope it sticks for all future episodes!
AC - yes, they do sell stuff - but seems to be mostly auctionable stuff - but i would rather just give the stuff to someone than bin it - there are people in classifieds who want to buy bulk items because they like doing car boots.
i have left stuff on my garden wall - stuff the charity shop wouldnt want - for people to help themselves, rather than bin - it always goes!

Giving goods o charity shops is in general a good thing but I have found it difficult. Recently I was involved in a house clearance and I had 8 car loads of goods to dispose of but all our local charity shops are situated on double yellow lines and I was assured by the assistants that it would be OK .
I didn't believe them and I took my loads to another oganisation that run annual jumble sales. My friend however did believe them and was pinched, which cost him a £60 fine. He appealed but it did no good.

boxy - no, generally its sell, skip or keep - only once have i seen her make a special 'add-on' of a charity 'bin' - rather than the 'stands' she has for the other 3 - i assume thats because some of the contestants have insisted, and actually refused to bin stuff but will donate - which is exactly what i would do.
i havent seen every episode obviously though, so i hope she did that more than once - but it should be a permanent fixture as many people just wouldnt care.
