the answers to a number of clues in the crossword all relate, somehow, to the number 13. for example some answers are - apollo; rugby league, triskaedekaphobia

There are no words or letters provided for any of these clues, just the word breakdown. For 1d the breakdown is 5, 6, 2, 4, 4.

first word will be major, the rest.....that's where we're all stuck.

I can make "major points on your body" fit, but does that have a link to thirteen, and there are loads of other combinations that would make sense but not necessarily have a link to 13.

For 1 down I have "o" for the second letter of the 4th word: 40 across "otter" as an anagram of "trot" for the left winger, and "e"
