I don't mean letter of complaint, I mean writing to friends and relatives - seems in this day and age with texts and IM's and emails hardly anybody bothers anymore. I noticed my handwriting when writing out cards at Christmas has become atrocious! My children know I'd be very disappointed in them if they didn't write thank you letters to people who have sent them gifts (I mean people far away not somebody face to face) I used to have 3 pen-friends when I was young and I loved receiving their letters

Tony :o) He's not great at expressing his feelings. But he has stuck with me for 40+ years - not an easy task for any bloke. So he must love me really!!
Of course he does LL, you don't have to write love letters and keep telling your wife / partner, girlfriend that you love them every 5 minutes to love them.
tony something i am looking forward to already
Yes lj there's one for you to goes without saying really.
tony - xxxxxxxxxx (((((())))))
Just before Christmas, some on this site said about the cost of sending a few card abroad, I'm sure it was £15.00, with the cost of stamps / B. Cards, is it worth it?
One of the worst effects of the stroke I had back in 2000 was the fact that I can barely hold a pen let alone use it, while before, though I say it myself, I used to write in a beautiful copperplate style that won competitions as a kid. Even now my nieces love getting texts from me as I refuse to use text speak and they always say it's like getting a "proper"letter
i have tried caligraphy paddy and my handwriting is still bad, at least you once succeeded. but am sorry to hear of your problems now.
I still write letters to my two old schoolfriends and to some elderly ladies ,old friends of my late ma in law .When she died I promised to keep in touch with them and they haven't got computers so it's pen and paper .
I must admit Shaney, if I do write a letter for any reason, it is typed and printed off. Shorthorthand made my handwriting dreadful - basically because after being able to write 120 wpm in shorthand handwriting seemed so laborious and I tried to write too quickly. At least I can get my thoughts down really quickly and write more when I type ;o). I can type far faster than handwrite.
Shorthorthand!! ?
LJ.nearly everybody in the family writes in a nice copperplate, when they can be bothered to write, Mum taught me and my two sisters and it's a thing we've tried to pass on to the kids.
