Euthanasia...

Although I am actually usually in favour of euthanasia, for some reason I'm very uncomfortable with this particular case. Whilst it is not my call and there is no reason to suspect that either man was coerced, I feel that to kill someone who is not ill is treading on dangerous ground and that they did not allow themselves sufficient time to potentially acclimatise themselves with their new situation.
What does everyone else think?

I don't think we can assume that they didn't seem at all concerned. We have no idea of the family’s feelings, or of the discussions that took place before the decision was made, but the article does state that '…. the separation from their parents and brother was very serene and beautiful.’

For all we know the parents may have understood their wishes completely.

I would say that as two adults of sound mind, this is no one's business but theirs.

I think what shocks me,is the fact that euthanasia was allowed under such circumstances....they were not old or terminally ill.
Was this truly a last resort-had they been offered counseling first to determine whether they could come to terms with their situation?
I too see this as shakey ground...there was mention in the article of euthanising children. That is worrying.
