Driving to work today i was surprised and shocked at how many drivers had been too lazy to clear snow off their windscreen/rear windows. One had a little circular hole to look through! Surely this cant be legal? And no lights in very poor visibility, beggars belief really !!

I thought I heard or read somewhere that this is now illegal.

quite a few law breakers this morning !
OH was the only one who had to drive today, before she left I cleaned off all the windows.
She made a similar comment to yours when she got home.
I think people like this belong to the ' it won't happen to me ' group. I get cross too lozzer and with people who drive as if it was dry and fine,
I agree. They're a menace. Do those who don't use their lights think they're saving their car battery or something?
I was thinking about going on dragon's den with an invention. On each corner of a car, their would be little lights. When a driver wants to turn a corner, a light would go off. Say, the driver wants to turn left, the left light would flash. Right, the right light would flash, and turn itself off once the manoevre has taken place. Sounds ridiculous, I know, it's never going to happen, especially at things called roundabouts.

Maybe we could get our heads together and think about something compact, perhaps in a spray can? That one could spray ice off from icy windows, or a little scraper that could wipe snow from a window?

Oooooh, it winds me up so much lozzer50, don't even get me started!
I'm in!
Naomi, if they don't use their lights they are actually saving fuel but only a minuscule amount and one doubts that is really the reason :(
Fitzer, are they really? Thanks - I didn't know that - but I still think they're stupid.

its always been a bug bear of mine. it takes a few seconds to clear windows. i would never dream of driving without clear windows because for one thing i like to see where im going! another bug bear is the amount of people driving with dodgy headlights i always make sure mine are working but then i think im a considerate driver.
Some people only use their lights to see where they are going. They don't seem to comprehend that they need to be seen on a bad day.
As for the snow, if you don't have clear visibility through your windscreen and side windows, that has got to be an offence.
Taught to drive in the forces and our instructor had a mnemonic; flowts= Fuel; Lights; Oil; Water; Tyres; Screens, which had to be done diligently before the first trainee started out for the day! Still works today
I would never drive away unless I could clearly see out of all the car windows and in the wing mirrors, total Idiots not to do so and a bloody menace to other drivers and pedestrians.
