Reinstalling Itunes On A New Pc
Can anyone please help me? I have a new pc and my itunes automatic login has disappeared. All the music is still on my ipod but when I plug it in, I'm told that the itunes library no longer exists. How can I reinstall this without losing everything?!
Many thanks in advance for any help.

Where is your actual library? Is it on an offboard storage device? If so, what you need to do is plug it into your new PC, and then you need to point iTunes to it. Click on:
edit > preferences > advanced
Then in the box that reads 'iTunes media folder location' navigate to your offboard device.
Then close iTunes, leaving (your offboard device plugged in), then open it again, and your library should appear.
If you have playlists and ratings, let me know - because to get those back is a different task.

If it is purchased music, you have to authorise the computer through the itunes store. You may also need to download your purchases again If it is music added from other sources, you need to add that music again from wherever it is stored. If you are seeing it greyed out it means that the computer is reading the info off your ipod but cannot marry it to music that it has stored on its own drives, this is to stop folk just passing music around by loading it onto an ipod then loading it onto any computer they fancy. If you are getting rid of the old computer don't forget to deauthorise it.
