A beautiful cold, sunny day here on the south coast, just how I like 'em in the winter......had my run and swim ...brekkie coming up, read of the paper ( such a shame about HMV ) and a pretty busy day ahead.
Have a good one all, whatever you're up too. :0) x
Morning all, snowing when I went to bed 0230ish, clear as a bell now, all melted, (E/Kent) bit dull and very cold, I feel a bacon sarnie is in order with the next coffee.
Hope you all have a good day.
Update (see first page). The archaeology team did turn up. I am now the proud (?) owner of an early Saxon burial ground. It has been immediately listed for investigation, mapping and excavation, not that the excavation will be immediate. And, apparently, I will be shot if I reveal where it is, in the meantime.
Congrats, Fred. That is really good news. Does it mean lots of interesting gold artefacts? Even if it doesn't, you must be very excited.
Just remember to keep the dogs away!
Yes annemollie, I'm a bit worried when the dogs bring bones in from outside, as it is . There's a churchyard not far away !
Bits of Saxon jewellery and ornaments have been turning up around here for some while, courtesy of this metal detector. There will be more, most likely intact, when the site is excavated but the experts can't say yet whether any will be exceptional.
7 o'clock in the evening and the good morning thread is still going!?! I've been up and about too early for this the past few days (boo hiss). a belated good morning all, and a big smile to Fred, you taught 'em well (dogs, that is!)
