Kdp Files

Help! I'm a complete technophobe, but I want to start publishing some short stories and poems on Amazon for buyers (hopefully) to load onto their Kindles. I understand I need to put them on as kdp files. I haven't a clue what to do or how to do it!

Can anyone please give me a step by step guide, keeping it REALLY simple? Does anyone know how much Amazon take for this, or how much I could realistically charge?

As I read it, you prepare your book in the standard DOC format (following the guidelines here)

and the upload process sees it automatically converted to KDP.
