my friend was one, and was lucky enough to live on a farm, without paying rent and took on liveries to earn extra money - its hard work!!

Try the British Horse Society website. They have qualifications for instructors and details are on:

Look at Agricultural colleges in the area - they offer a wide variety of 'horsey' courses! Many people also train 'on the job' so look for NVQ type courses you could go for!

Best of luck - I trained as an instructor in my late teens then for some bizarre reason have ended up as a secondary school teacher!!!!!
Start with the BHS, you register as a gold member, and then enrol for the Stage 1, the lowest exam- Im currently doing it and its fun!
