Hope to avoid yesterday's amusement. Went for a walk in a snowy Cambridge Botanic Garden. The trees around the lake looked particularly fine. As I walked over the snow towards the lake, I came to a kerb and stepped off it on to the grey tarmac of the path. This was a slight misjudgement. The 'tarmac of the path' was the grey ice covering the lake and the 'kerb' was the lake edge. The ice was too thin. Ah, well.
Sad thing was that nobody was around to fall about laughing at this Laurel and Hardy moment; as I hauled myself out , there wasn't so much as a squirrel.
Today, I have given up visiting other gardens; far too wet for my liking; and shall concentrate on hacking various bits of my own to within an inch of their lives. Have a good day, all!
My first time there, we stayed on the outside on the north east side - each trip in and out seemed to take a completely different route, totally confusing!
Just starting to snow here in NE Leicestershire.
Don't forget you can watch the progress of the snow on
