Has anyone used composite decking instead of wood. If so which makes are recommended ? By chance doing a search on Google I came across Timberech and it looked impressive but that could just be sales blurb.

Sorry I haven't, but thanks for the link. Looks very good. At £40 per sq.m. it's more than regular timber, but if sealing/staining etc are taken into account, I'd guess it would be well worth it.

We use composites in all sorts of places today.
