Isn't it amazing how you see drivers proceeding in inclement weather, at quite inappropriate speeds .

On top of that you have idiots like this , loose on the highways .

Should drivers be forced to take a course in inclement weather driving ?
I dont know , perhaps you could have tracks where artifical snow can be produced , and the training made part of the driving test .

There are some idiots about, I was doing 50 yesterday on a dual carraigeway and the number of cars tearing past at what looked like close to 100 was amazing. OK the road was mostly clear but there where area that look wet that could well have been ice!

I don't think it's feasible to force winter driving training but education is possible for most but there will always be idiots.

The speed limit is designed for perfect conditions.

In some road conditions, even driving at the speed limit could be too fast. Factors that affect road conditions include fog, rain and traffic flow. The national speed limit is not a target speed.

So even driving at 50 could be reckless.

Actually, I've seen the original version of this photo without the pixilation and ironically the only part of his car that isn't covered with snow - is the number plate.

He will no doubt be receiving a visit from Plod any day now...

You don't even need artificial snow, just a willingness by the Government and other authorities to give people the proper training.
