Being Treated Unfairly??
3 Answers
I've been working at my current job for 7 years as a cleaner (I'm female)
Male security guard been there 5 years never spoken or even tried to communicate with me
His family have been abusive to me an my partner while we are both in work reported to management
I asked for a mediation last year still nothing has been done
I paid for my sia badge so I could either get work else where or step up in my current job
A Job position open i applied and they gave someone else the job after being told that if there was a security job going I would be inline for the vacancy
After this I was told that I would be vetted to do security work part time covering the other two security officers holidays this was 5 months ago
Now they are employing the brother of the none communication security officer doing a security job.
Every time I talk to my line manager about issues I have during work I either get scar ism or turn it around making me the one look bad.
I feel I'm being treated unfairly an not given the opportunity to express my feelings or become a security guard can anyone give me advice cheers

You need to be in a trade union or have some organisation to advise you in your position.
Irrespective of whether your employer recognises a union or not, they are in a position to give you support and advice.
They sound a horrible bunch of so and so's. It might be worth looking around for other openings.

Have you any idea why the guard's family have been abusive to you?
You could raise a grievance but I'm not sure it will help. Is it a major employer? Is there an HR department?
You may have to choose between trying to ignore it or looking for work elsewhere- it sounds as if you'd be better off in a firm where you are treated with more respect

I've been looking for other jobs over the last year but there not much out there to fit my critria. I've decided I am going to speak my area manager and by pass my line manager as I feel that I can not speak to him about this situation. It's easy to quit my job but I have bills and a mortgage to pay and will find it difficult to live on jsa. This afternoon I am going to a union for advice as I feel I am being pushed out of a job an intimidated by these people. I will keep you informed of how this process goes for other out there that are feeling and being treated unfairly like I do thanks for both advice Lexie
