Young Jack Nicholson Movie

Could someone please tell me which movie is it, it is absolutely hilarious, and character played by Nicholson has so to say stupid wife, which makes him crazy, and at some scene she throws a party at their new home that he knew nothing about..
I watched Five Easy Pieces again, I thought it could be this movie, but I can't find that scene, or is there just some shorter version of the movie, that I happened to download.. Help!

I already went through his IMDB list and couldn't find it, that is, couldn't recognize it, and I got so tired and frustrated that I came here.. If somebody watched the movie it would be of great help.

I thought perhaps you might recognise it by the cover......I found another I loved but had forgotten the title which was a great movie which starts of with Jack standing on the gallows with a rope around his neck- only to be saved by Mary Steenbergen (?) who used him to work in her gold mine ....."Going South"

You know what's funny, I imagine myself going straight to Jack Nicholson ask him this question, but that man made so many movies, I think he would not know the answer.. :)
I didn't watch Going South but I will now that you recommend it, I surely recommend Five Easy Pieces, it is great.
