I am not a Chelsea fan but, having watched the ball boy incident from last nights match against Swansea, I feel very strongly that it's the ball boy and not the player who should be severely disciplined. Surely the ball boys job is to return the ball to the field of play as quickly and easily as possible. That kid was clearly trying to keep the ball from Chelsea to assist Swansea. ban him from football for life, I say. You?

I think this could inspire a new Hybrid sport -

Football within the touchlines
but if the ball goes out, opposing teams of Rugby players around the margins fight over possession until they can pass it to their team mates on the pitch.

Not sure how the Offside Rule would work though ...

On a positive note - at least Chavski lost
He was asked to 'come out of retirement'

He is a directors son

His dad owns a chain of hotels

The chain of hotels that Chelsea stayed it last night !!!
Aaaaawwww come on folks, it's only a game! Where's my coat!
A story made for the headline writers, what with 'Beast of Eden', 'The Boots of Hazard'...
A Goal kick was the decision of the officials, so the goalkeeper and the ballboy should have retrieved the ball between them. It had nothing to do with Hazard and he should not have interfered.

If the same incident happened in the street and not a football ground, then a prosecution for assault would have followed.

Footballers cannot attack officials, groundstaff or ballboys. I hope that Hazard gets a hefty fine, and a lengthy ban.
Are you another Manc fan then Gromit?

Well it didn't happen in the street did it.
Why can't people see the incident for what it was........... a man (well I thought I was a man at 17) acting like a child and then acting , whilst another man kicks a ball............... lengthy ban? .......why?

There is already a precident:

// Argentina national team captain Daniel Passarella struck a ballboy for time-wasting while playing for Internazionale in 1986 and was banned for six weeks. //

Sounds about right.

If this had been a Chelsea ballboy, would there have been the same furore? I doubt it. All clubs do this at some time or another and it was only highlighted as the match was live on TV.
