Car like Rover 420 with sunroof?

I am on my second Rover 420 SDi and this one took me nearly a year to find. I can't buy another one so I'm starting to look now for a suitable follow up and would be grateful for any suggestions:

It must have a full sun roof.

Also must be diesel and have good low speed torque.

4 door manual.

Probably V or W reg.

Why not just keep the one you've got, bank the money and enjoy watching the interest build up. Surely you haven't managed to wear it out, have you - or do you do a very high mileage. I'd expect a modern diesel to do well in excess of 100,000 miles before needing much attention. If you must find something to spend your money on, then the Jaguar X-type is one of the best medium sized diesels you can get at the moment. All diesel engines can be expected to give good low speed torque as that is a characteristic of a diesel. If you really must have something small and cheap then Volkswagens have a good reputation for Diesels.

I only do about 7000 a year! I'm very happy with my current car, but have been unable to find anythig similar with a sunroof. The trend seems to be to air conditioning, which does not do the same thing at all.

I'll have a look at the X type & check it out for roof windows!

why not try to get a sunroof fitted? would solve your problem

Good idea Trotsky - the problem with that is it is classified as a modification so most insurance companies then don't want to know you.

But it would certainly make a reasonable plan B.

ask the insurance company for advice, may not be as bad as you think or as another plan C you could paint the picture of a sky on the interior roof and put a fan on the dash to blow your hair about (asuming you have hair that is ) its not quite the same but you dont always get what you want .
