what qualifications do i need to become a fashion designer?

i would suggest something at degree level to be taken seriously, as its a fiercely competeive industry and there is so much more to it than knowing about fashion - tailoring, seamstress, fabrics, body shapes, colouring, dying, preparation, buying, following and setring trends, foresight, weave, flow, movement, drawing, sourcing, selling your ideas, originality, shows, fittings etc etc etc

perhaps try to get some work experience in order to establish your direction
