I can't imagine that the tickets are going to be cheap. A remark by a government spokesperson, that the trains will be accessible to all, reminded me of Mr Justice Cocklecarrot's remark, 'The doors of the High Court are, like those of the Ritz, open to all.

They won't all be paying fat cat prices if there's an alternative of a slightly slower train. If the pricing is like it is at present, there will also be heavy discounts for advance and off-peak sales.
Incidentally, if Beachcomber's thought he was being satirical by having his fictional judge say that about the Ritz and justice, he was behind the times. Curiously, they used to have only first and third class. My mother persisted in saying 'first and third' for the two classes, though the practice was long gone. The reason for it was something to do with the government, long ago, insisting that a higher percentage of third class carriages be provided and the railway companies getting around this by simply having no second class named
