Angioplasty

Anyone out there had angioplasty / stenting ? would be good to get your experiences of it and to hear how painful it is!

No.....I haven't had it........but am familiar with the procedure.

it is basically a painless procedure....the stent being inserted into the groin (femoral Artery) or in the wrist (Radial Artery)

Whichever site is preferred, a long anaesthetic is given.

Had 2,completely painless.Nothing to worry about except a bit of bruising in groin area afterwards.

sorry...long anaesthetic should have read local anaesthetic.

Agree with the above answers. Minor discomfort as the local anaesthetic is given, usually in the groin, thereafter nothing. Interesting procedure, esp. if you watch the monitor. Subsequent bruising does not always occur.
